Some parents find it difficult and some are unable to help their children with schoolwork or home work. Sometime children are more receptive to working school struggles with another person. Tutoring can help strengthen subject comprehension, build confidence, and learning skills. Students receive individualized attention that they don’t get in a crowded classroom, which helps children who struggle to keep up in class, and those who aren’t challenged enough.
The “No Longer Lost” Program will provide a safe space for children, youth, and young adult to share their struggles, difficult experiences, and issues with their peers. IHF will provide the platform for them, provide counseling and mental health services. Some youth and young adult sometimes experience “personal lost and feel hopeless with self and life. IHF will also provide advocacy support for the children, youth, and young adult through the “No Longer Lost” program.
Sankofa (Twi) is an African word from the Akan tribe in Ghana, meaning “go back and get it.” A symbol of the wisdom of learning from the past to build for the future. From the Akan proverb, “Se wo were fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri,” meaning, “It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot (or left behind).” This program involves Youth and Young adult leaning from their origins and travelling around the World learning their past, history and culture.
