Anti-Black Racism Statement

We have recently watched and witness the murders and occurrences of racial violence against the Black community with horror. Anti-Black racism is everywhere and doesn’t stop at the Canada’s border. Canada is built on the same structures, which institutionalized racism on Black and Indigenous people.

The recent death of George Floyd in United States, and Regis Korchinski-Paquet in Toronto highlights the need for Canada to address systemic anti-Black racism issues.

I’m Here Foundation address and denouncing all forms of anti-Black racism, colonialism and white supremacy. We stand in solidarity with the Black and Indigenous communities, who both experience disturbing rates of institutionalized violence in Canada. The organization have a responsibility to ensure our work contributes to ending and addressing anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism. IHF will achieve this through critical self-reflection, cultural enrichment, education and dialogue within our communities.
